The Equilibrium Recipe

DAILY REGIMEN

  1. When you start to feel anxious or stressed, close your laptop and take a break

  2. Go to the NOTES + IDEAS section in your daily journal (if used, then flip to the bullet notebook in back of your journal)

  3. Play a nice game of tic-tac-toe or connect four with yourself to stimulate your mind

  4. Try not to think about anything else, just focus on the game against your own mind!

Why This Recipe works

Never underestimate the power of your own mind.

Sometimes to relieve stress (or the feeling of “being stuck”), all you just need a little perspective. This simple shift allows you to take a break, focus on something else, and go back to your work from a fresh perspective.

It also calms your mind while simultaneously stimulating your brain, and allows you to see that your one true competitor is your own mind.

Your turn! Add this to your routine this week! Everytime you feel stuck or feel stressed during the day, take a break and play a game (of your choice) with yourself. Monitor your stress levels, and do a quick stress check before and after you play the game.
